The athletic shoe and clothing retailer has inked a 10-year lease to occupy its own store in the mixed-use complex, which is rising on the block bounded by J Street and Fourth, Fifth and Island avenues in Downtown's Gaslamp Quarter. Currently under construction, Gaslamp City Square's first phase located at 400 Fifth Ave. will consist of more than 42,000 sf of retail and commercial space, as well as 120 luxury apartments and more than 300 parking spaces. Puma expects to open its store here when Phase I is completed in May 2004.
Bill Shrader and Corinna Gattasso of Burnham Real Estate Services ONCOR International, along with Tony Villasenor of BRE Commercial/NAI, acted on behalf of both Puma and the lessor, Gaslamp Phase One. The transaction is valued at nearly $1.9 million.
