Puma Pounces on 3,980 SF of Downtown Retail

SAN DIEGO-Athletic shoe and clothing retailer Puma North America inks a $1.9-million, 10-year lease for retail space in Gaslamp City Square. The new tenant plans to open its first San Diego store here in May 2004.

SAN DIEGO-Puma North America has pounced on 3,980 sf of retail space in Gaslamp City Square, where it plans to open its first San Diego location.

The athletic shoe and clothing retailer has inked a 10-year lease to occupy its own store in the mixed-use complex, which is rising on the block bounded by J Street and Fourth, Fifth and Island avenues in Downtown’s Gaslamp Quarter. Currently under construction, Gaslamp City Square’s first phase located at 400 Fifth Ave. will consist of more than 42,000 sf of retail and commercial space, as well as 120 luxury apartments and more than 300 parking spaces. Puma expects to open its store here when Phase I is completed in May 2004.
