Missile Agency to Make New Home in Suffolk Building

FALLS CHURCH, VA-The Missile Defense Agency–a federal group established last year for the purpose of defending the US, deployed forces, allies and friends around the globe from ballistic missile attack–has found a new home in the 260,000-sf office structure at 5611 Columbia Pike. MDA will occupy 145,000 sf of the building, which is also known as the Suffolk Building.

The agency is being forced to relocate from its digs at the Naval Annex due to an impending demolition that will make room for a new memorial. Terms of the agency’s deal with property owner Suffolk Properties are not readily available, but Advantis’s Mid-Year 2003 Office Report indicates that class A office space in the Annandale/Falls Church/I-395 submarket leases for $25.75 per sf.
