Allen Matkins, which also has branches in Los Angeles, Orange and San Francisco counties, has maintained a presence in San Diego County for more than 15 years. It was in 1987 that Allen Matkins opened its first San Diego office in University Towne Centre, says Mike Pruter, a tax and real estate attorney based in the new Del Mar Heights location. In 1994, Allen Matkins relocated its UTC branch to Downtown San Diego, "but over the years recognized that the core of the real estate and corporate client base live and work in North County," Pruter tells GlobeSt.com. Thus, the idea to open an additional office in Del Mar Heights was conceived. Pruter says the new location will give Allen Matkins the opportunity to "expand the corporate practice and better service the core strength of the firm, which is the real estate practice."
Located at 12348 High Bluff Drive, the new office currently counts eight lawyers on staff. Pruter expects that the Del Mar Heights location and the Downtown San Diego branch, which houses 38 attorneys, will eventually "work pretty interchangeably." Lawyers from the two offices are already connected in terms of phones and computers, Pruter adds.
In addition to its Del Mar Heights and Downtown San Diego offices, Allen Matkins also operates offices in Century City, Los Angeles, Irvine and San Francisco.
