LA-Z-Boy has signed a long-term lease for 15,000 sf of space at 691 Central Park Ave. The deal was announced by Eric S. Goldschmidt of Goldschmidt & Associates, who represented the building owner 691 Central Park Ave. LLC. Marc Durst of Rockville Centre represented LA-Z-Boy in the lease transaction.
Goldschmidt says that the new store will be a corporately owned and managed location. The national furniture retailer plans to convert the space into a "showcase retail store," Goldschmidt notes. Occupancy of the space, which encompasses the entire 691 Central Ave. building, is expected before the end of this year.
In another lease deal in the Central Ave. retail corridor, Goldschmidt says he brokered the lease of 4,000 sf of space to Webster Bank at 2143 Central Park Ave in Yonkers. The bank plans to open a retail branch at the location in early 2004. The Webster Bank branch is located nearby the new Bed Bath & Beyond store, which totals 40,000 sf of space that is scheduled to open by October of this year.
The Goldschmidt firm reported that it had signed two new retail leases at the Rye Ridge Shopping Center in Rye Brook. Pam Brien Goldschmidt brokered a 1,700-sf lease with Noyze, a women's clothing retailer. Also, Eric Goldschmidt brokered a 2,100-sf lease deal with Westchester Nutrition at the shopping center's medical building.
Goldschmidt added that he negotiated a 2,125 sf lease with Prima Capital Advisors LLC for the balance of the third floor at the 62,000-sf office building at Two Overhill Rd. in Scarsdale. Representing Prima Capital Advisors LLC was Gil Ohls of Newmark of Connecticut LLC.
With the lease, Two Overhill Rd. is now 95% leased. The building's anchor is Salomon Smith Barney.
