At Redwood City, CA-based Tower, Belka was responsible for overall property management including financial planning, leasing support and operations. He oversaw a 3 million-sf portfolio that included class A commercial office buildings, suburban office parks and an industrial distribution warehouse up and down the West Coast. He also led development of the company's customer service program. Prior to Tower, Belka managed construction projects for privately-held RKO Construction Inc. and served as a property manager with Wright Runstad & Company in Seattle and with Hines Interests in San Francisco.

Belka became available for the position at Unico after Tower closed its West Coast offices, having opportunistically sold a number of the properties with which Belka was associated. "His depth and breadth of real estate experience in our markets, and past success in building a customer service culture make him an asset to our company and our customers," says Unico President and CEO Dale Sperling. "(He) will bring fresh perspectives and innovative concepts to our team and our strategic vision."

Belka replaces Jeff Shipley, who has "left to pursue other interests," according to Unico. Neither Shipley nor Sperling could be reached on Monday for further comment.
