Starwood Opens First Westin Hotel in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR-The 450-room Westin Kuala Lumpur is owned by Ireka Corporation Berhad, one of Malaysia's largest construction and development companies. It is the first higher-end hotel to open in Kuala Lumpur in the last six years.

KUALA LUMPUR-The first-ever Westin Hotel in Malaysia is up and running this week here. The 450-room Westin Kuala Lumpur also marks the 120th property for the upscale brand, which is controlled by publilcy traded Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.

Located on Jalan Bukit Bintang, the main shopping and entertainment thoroughfare in the city, the property is owned (and was developed) by Ireka Corporation Berhad, one of Malaysia’s largest construction and development companies. It is the first deluxe hotel to open in the city in the last six years.
