Grosvenor Gets Cracking on Another Tech Park Building

BALTIMORE-Grosvenor, developer of bwtech@UMBC Research and Technology Park, has gotten to work on a new 60,000-sf building designed to house office or wet lab space. The structure will carry the address of 5523 Research Park Dr., and is the second building to go up at the 41-acre campus; the first was a 62,000-sf structure. A Grosvenor spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com that this newest building will cost $9 million to develop.

“Along with our university partner, we decided to proceed with the development of a second building at bwtech@UMBC because of the strong interest we have experienced among biotech and other research firms in locating adjacent to UMBC,” explains Grosvenor senior vice president Andrew Galbraith. “By leasing at this growing university Research Park, firms can benefit from advantageous rental rates, a highly convenient location just off I-95 and minutes from Baltimore Washington International Airport, and a highly educated labor pool graduating from the University of Maryland/Baltimore County’s stellar technology programs.”
