Virginia Tech Looks to Hilton for Management Assistance

BLACKSBURG, VA-Looking ahead to the future, Virginia Tech has decided to tap Hilton Hotels Corp. to handle the management of the Inn at Virginia Tech and the Skelton Conference Center, which are on target to open in May 2005. The two properties are part of the schools $46 million alumni and conference center project. What Hilton will be responsible for is a 147-unit hotel and a conference center with 20,000 sf of function space consisting of a 9,200-sf ballroom and 15 conference and meeting rooms.

For Hilton, the assignment marks another step in its ongoing relationship with Virginia Tech, as the company already spearheads management activities for Virginia Tech Foundation’s the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center.
