The Madison Hotel Makes its Comeback

WASHINGTON, DC-The Madison Hotel, an upscale destination that has played host to a sterling list of dignitaries and political leaders from around the globe since its debut four decades ago, re-emerges from its very first major renovation after nine-months under the construction knife. The Buccini/Pollin Group, which is in charge of the 12-story, 353-room hotel’s operations, revealed its plans to renovate the celebrated property shortly after news emerged of Multi-Employer Property Trust’s $32 million acquisition of the hotel from the estate of Marshall B. Coyne, original developer of The Madison.

Situated in the city’s Central Business District on the corner of 15th and M streets just up the block from the Washington Post headquarters, The Madison’s new makeover has given the property enhanced meeting space, a reconfigured lobby, two new restaurants and a lounge–not to mention a top-of-the-line restoration of the rooms to their original federal-style décor. Guests and visitors can partake of the 16,000 sf of meeting space, business center and fitness center that grace the facility. Architectural firm Brennan Beer Gorman Monk spearheaded the design elements of the renovation.
