Isabel Forces Businesses to Flee to Ready-Made Office Space

BALTIMORE-Businesses in the Candler Building and World Trade Centers are without a home after Hurricane Isabel left the properties without electricity, but many have gotten a much-needed helping hand from business center operator BusinesSuites. The Austin, TX-headquartered company has five ready-made office communities in the area–including at the Inner Harbor and Harbor Place–where it has been arranging temporary, fully-operational office and meeting space for some firms. Together, Candler and the World Trade Center, which could be out of commission for as many as eight weeks, account for 800,000 sf.

“Our team in Maryland mobilized over the weekend to begin helping businesses on Sunday morning,” says BusinesSuites president John Jordan. “We also committed team members from our other markets to support the communications and logistical needs of these businesses.
