Freddie Mac Gets New Affordable Housing Director

MCLEAN, VA-Freddie Mac has tapped a new head for its Multifamily Affordable Housing division by bringing in W. Kimball Griffith to serve as director. Griffith–who will spearhead development and operation of the financing organization’s public finance and tax-exempt bond credit pursuits–steps into the shoes of the sector’s former director Douglas Westfall, who departed Freddie Mac to become senior vice president for GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corp. Affordable Housing Division.

Griffith comes to the position from Washington, DC law firm Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll LLP, where he was a partner and specialized in working with housing financing agencies. “We have worked with Kim extensively in the affordable housing arena in the past and we are excited about the addition of Kim to our multifamily team,” says division senior vice president Adrian Corbiere. “His outstanding reputation in the industry and expertise in public finance will be a tremendous asset to Freddie Mac in our ongoing efforts to support affordable rental housing.”
