C.S. Golf Partners LLC is the new owner of the par-72 course which remains open to the public. The company owns six other golf courses in Florida and Canada.

C.S. Golf Partners is headed by David Creighton Sr., a former star center with the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins. Creighton branched into golf course management after his successful career with several NHL teams ended in the 1960s. Adam Creighton followed his father's career and also played with several NHL teams

Adam and his brother David Jr., a PGA class A golf professional, are partners in the 40-year-old C.S. Golf, along with long-time associates Bill Sherlock Sr., Bill Sherlock Jr. and David Sherlock. David Creighton, a permanent Celebration resident, will joint the Celebration Golf Club staff.

The acquired property includes a clubhouse with a pro shop, locker room and Windmill Tavern, a restaurant with banquet facilities.

When Celebration Co. placed the property on the market in June, company president Perry Reader told GlobeSt.com the asset would only be sold to experienced golf course management professionals who understood the value of the property to Celebration's 8,000 permanent residents.

"C.S. Golf Partners' leadership team brings four decades of experience in golf management and has a keen understanding of the role of Celebration golf course in the community," says Matthew Kelly, Celebration's vice president of real estate operations.

"The course's vistas will remain open and continue to provide a buffer between the residential neighborhoods and the commercial areas," he says. The course was designed by the father-son team of Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr.

Celebration Co. owns the town's 310,000-sf Downtown commercial district and 1,200 undeveloped acres on the west side of Interstate 4 which are zoned for office, retail and general commercial. About one million sf of the planned three-million sf of commercial space in Celebration is developed.

Eastdil Corp. of New York is marketing the Town Center which has 105,744 sf of retail (100% leased), 105 apartments (96% rented) and 94,000 sf of office (93% leased). Also on the selling block separately are two hotel-zoned sites at World Drive and Celebration Boulevard.

Jeff Woolson, a senior vice president in the local office of CB Richard Ellis Inc., represented Celebration Co. in the golf club transaction.
