Bank Company Expanding Into New Territory

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI-A Michigan bank is expanding with a 13,500-sf banking center here, which will serve both as a retail and commercial bank facility.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI-A New Baltimore, MI, bank is building its first office in the township. Construction is under way on a new 13,500-sf banking center on M-59, near I-94, for Citizens State Bank. In addition to operating as a retail branch office, about half of the bank building will be used as a commercial banking center.

“We found a great niche for us is working with the small mom-and-pop stores and some of the Tier III businesses,” says Paul Socia, EVP of the bank. “We’ve been growing by leaps and bounds in that arena and it is something we focus on.”

Socia says the bank’s sixth branch office is also a reflection of the growing population in the New Baltimore-Chesterfield Township area of Macomb County. The two communities ranked first and fourth, respectively, in metro Detroit in terms of population growth rate from 2000 to 2002, according to a recent US Census report.
