Macomb County Plans New Building

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI-The county will spend about $1.5 million on a new 14,000 sf public works building here.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI-The Macomb County Public Works commissioner will soon be working in new digs after nearly four decades in a location on Groesbeck Highway here.

A 14,000-sf facility will be built at the county’s Elizabeth Road complex for Public Works commissioner Anthony Marrocco and his staff of about 40. Construction costs are expected to range from $1.5 million to $1.7 million.

The current building suffers from poor heating and air conditioning, rusty water pipes and an overloaded electrical system. It will be demolished when Marrocco’s department makes its move next year, Marrocco says.
