In addition to offices, the scheme promises ground floor retail and restaurant and much improved public open spaces in Creechurch Place and Mitre Square. The site lies within one of the designated viewpoints from Tower Bridge over the White Tower an the Tower of London, but at 20 stories it is below the height restriction.
The Ansbacher Group will be moving to a new headquarters at London Bridge next spring, which will free much of the site up for redevelopment. Helical Bar director Gerald Kaye says: "Mitre Square will provide a building of the very highest quality and flexibility with floorplates of up to 25,000 sf. The whole area will be much improved by the new public open space."
Ansbacher and Helical Bar are being advised by Allsop & Co and Ingleby Trice Kennard.
