In addition to the new facility, known as the San Elijo Hills Park Community Center, the project has also resulted in the construction of a concession stand building with three restrooms, as well as renovations to an existing chlorination plant. The TI project has incurred a cost of $2.3 million.

Architects BP Associates served as project architect, while Leon Hayden of San Elijo Hills Development Co. served as construction manager and Donna Vargo of San Diego-based Roel acted as project executive. Subcontractors included HL Masonry Builders Inc., Banker Insulation, Commercial & Industrial Roofing and CJ's Interiors.

The new community center is one of various amenities planned for the 2,000-acre San Elijo Hills development, which is located in the city of San Marcos. Upon completion, it will feature a town center, retail stores and services, public schools, parks with sports fields, and miles of hiking and riding trails. In addition, the development will include 1,000 acres of open space.
