World's Largest Applebee's to Debut in NYC

NEW YORK CITY-Westchester-based Apple-Metro Inc., is set to open the world’s largest Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar on November 3 at 50th Street and Broadway.

With almost 14,000 sf, three floors and seating for 400, the new Applebee’s will feature a reception area and bar on the first floor, restaurant seating on the second, and banquet space on the third floor. It will include two bars, two kitchens and an additional private room off the banquet room. It is expected to have 300 part- and full-time employees, at the location previously occupied by Lundy’s of Brooklyn. By comparison, the average size for an Applebee’s is 6,500 sf.

A company spokesperson says that urban locations are usually in well-traveled areas close to public transportation, while suburban ones are also in very populated areas–sometimes stand alone and sometimes in shopping centers and always include ample parking.
