Balboa Medical Services plans to use the newly purchased facility, which encompasses a total of 12,276 sf, to house an ambulance service. The building is located at 3550 Afton Rd. in the Kearny Mesa submarket of San Diego.

Tom Nicholas of Colliers International acted on behalf of Balboa Medical Services. Mickey Morera and Jay Arnett represented the seller, Project Concern International.

Founded in 1961 by California physician Dr. James Turpin, Project Concern International is an organization that offers "parents and worldwide partners with medical training, support and health care crucial to protecting the well being of children and families," according to its website. The organization currently serves five continents, providing health care and training to more than three million people yearly.
