Law Firm Relocates to New 240,000-SF Digs

WASHINGTON, DC-After having pre-leased space in Terrell Place, the new 477,000-sf office and retail development across from the MCI Center, law firm Venable LLP has finally been able to move into its new 240,000-sf digs within the office portion of the property. Phillip Thomas of project developer CarrAmerica Inc. tells GlobeSt.com that the current asking rent for office space at Terrell Place ranges from $31 to $42 per sf. “With Venable moved in, we’re right at about 50% occupancy,” Thomas adds.

Located on a corner in the East End area at 575 Seventh St., Terrell Place is a unique property featuring three linked buildings including the former Hecht’s department store, a new nine-story structure and a new 11-story structure. Venable’s space encompasses a litigation support facility, case-management space connected to a central file facility on the concourse level, conference rooms and a cafeteria on the top floor, not to mention a rooftop terrace and bocce ball court.
