Campaign Complete at UDM, Announcement Expected

DETROIT-The University of Detroit-Mercy has wrapped up a major fundraising campaign and plans a major building announcement soon.

DETROIT-The University of Detroit-Mercy has raised more than $100 million to pay for renovations, expansions and new construction on the university’s three city campuses. A major announcement from the university is expected soon, sources say.

“This campaign was critically important to the university,” says UDM President Maureen A. Fay, O.P. “It enabled us to virtually transform the educational environment, making it more dynamic and responsive to the needs of our students. We have truly strengthened our ability to fulfill our mission and vision for Catholic higher education. Our alumni and friends who participated in this campaign have indeed created a ‘legacy’ for the university for which they should be very proud.”

A UDM spokesman says the university also plans to make a major announcement about a construction project in the city before the end of the year.
