Shibuya tells GlobeSt.com he was offered a "significant" role after the merger of CBRE and Insignia earlier this year, but the Trammell Crow opportunity was "too enticing to pass up. It's an opportunity to focus on building nationally." Shibuya says Trammell Crow is looking to become a "significant presence" in markets such as New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Northern California and Los Angeles.

A CBRE spokesperson says, "We wish Bob well in his new endeavors. CB Richard Ellis has the greatest depth of management in the greater Los Angeles area and we expect to solidify our number one position through the integration of the talented CB Richard Ellis and Insignia/ESG brokers. This integration has been meeting with terrific success."

"The addition of Bob to our national brokerage platform further demonstrates TCC's commitment to developing a highly competitive brokerage and transaction business," says Michael J. Lafitte, president, Trammell Crow Co. Global Services. "Our goal is to continue to push for higher level producers and have a network that is deeper in all major markets with appropriate coverage in secondary markets. Our approach is to add strategic hires that fit our culture and individuals who are committed to excellent customer service."
