Pentland combined its existing office tower with a new five-storey office building on the adjacent site creating a corporate campus, and the judges hailed its "design touches that are far removed from the safe corporate palate of rigorously (but often blandly) tasteful design that is becoming characteristic of so much corporate architecture."
Also selected for awards were The Tun, 111 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh in the Commercial Workplace category; the refurbishment of HM Treasury at 1 Horse Guards Road, London, SW1 in the Refurbished Workplace category and BT Wholesale Markets at Gatwick, West Sussex in the Best Fit-out of Workplace category.
