Regency Lays Out $29M for Prized Package

ANTHEM, AZ-An unsolicited $28.7 million offer buys a thriving retail complex: the 149,002-sf Anthem Marketplace, the Shops at Anthem and four undeveloped pad sites. With inline space at 96% occupancy, Regency's courting pad site prospects.

ANTHEM, AZ-The crown jewels of the city’s retail properties, Anthem Marketplace and the Shops at Anthem, have been sold for $28.7 million just two years after the 149,002-sf complex was completed.

“This was a prized asset in the master-planned community of Anthem,” Jan Fincham, with Lee & Associates Arizona, tells GlobeSt.com of the neighborhood shopping center located at Anthem Way and Gavilan Peak Parkway in northwest Phoenix. Fincham says the property, developed by seller Pederson LLC, which has built several shopping centers in the metropolitan Phoenix market, wasn’t on the market when buyer Regency Centers moved in with an offer. The Jacksonville, FL-based REIT closed the deal Friday.
