Biz Park Ready to Roll Out First Building

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD-The state has decided to give a helping hand to the development of the 92-acre Patuxent Business Park by awarding a $2.5 million grant for the new research and technology campus. The funds will be directed toward building the property’s first structure, a 22,000-sf office building that will be the first of several, ultimately accounting for 650,000 sf of class A office and flex space. Buildings in the park will be one to five stories high and could number as many as 13.

“The success of the Patuxent Business Park project demonstrates how partnerships between state and local governments are essential for the growth of economic development opportunities in Maryland,” says Aris Melissaratos, secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. “This project, which will provide much needed office and flex space to the community and support the area’s growing technology industries, will strongly support and enhance Calvert County’s economic development opportunities.”
