Roche Unit Signs 82,000-SF Lease

BRANCHBURG, NJ-Roche Molecular Systems will occupy all of Branchburg II within Murray Corporate Center. The company joins another biotech firm, LifeCell, in the Murray Construction property.

BRANCHBURG, NJ-The pharmaceutical and related biotech industries continue to provide a bit of a spark for New Jersey’s real estate market–in the latest transaction, Roche Molecular Systems Inc., has leased the entire 82,000-sf Branchburg II at Murray Corporate Center in this Somerset County community.

The Pleasanton, CA-based Roche Molecular, a division of global healthcare giant F. Hoffmann-LaRoche Ltd. of Switzerland, will use the new facility for office, research and manufacturing operations. The company will move its New Jersey operations here from Totowa.

Roche Molecular develops and produces molecular-based diagnostic tests and automated testing platforms for researchers, physicians, patients, hospitals and laboratories. The company is also the second major tenant–and second major biotech company–to move into Murray Corporate Center, a project of the Springfield, NJ-based Murray Construction Co. A little over two years ago, the LifeCell Corp., which is involved in regenerative tissue R&D, moved its headquarters into the 58,000 sf Branchburg I building.
