$13M Art Museum Renovation in the Works in Flint

FLINT, MI-Renovation plans for the 85,000-sf Flint Institute of Arts have been unveiled. Work is expected to begin in February 2004.

FINT, MI-The Flint Institute of Arts has launched a $12.6 million capital campaign to raise funds for the renovation of the 85,000-sf facility built in 1957, along with a $7 million endowment campaign to fund future operations.

“New meeting rooms, a great hall, improved catering and lavatory spaces will enable the FIA to accommodate more local organizations that request the use of the facility,” says John B. Henry, III, executive director of the FIA. “Our education facilities, which have been at capacity for more than a decade, will also be expanded to accommodate more students and offer state-of-the-art equipment.”
