Baker Drywall Co. Inc. currently leases a 15,000-sf spot on the north side of town. Its new address will be 8921 Railwood Dr. in the northeast submarket. Andrew W. Sowell with Boyd Page Commercial Real Estate Services in Houston tells GlobeSt.com the company was toying with a design/build option as part of the eight-month search until the Railwood building, listed at $900,000, surfaced.
Sowell and Alexander F. Reilly, also with Boyd Page, represented Baker Drywall, a commercial contractor that's just wrapped up work at the city's basketball arena, Toyota Center. Don Haley with Haley Martin Associates in Houston represented the seller, Thomas Yezbak of Uniontown, PA.
The 27-year-old building is positioned on 3.8 acres. Harris County Appraisal District has the 2003 assessment at $650,000. The holding was on the market about eight months. The design, location and 4,000-sf office were the deal-makers, Sowell says.
