Specifically, $448 million has been set aside for the Revitalization Program, $40 million for the Demolition Program, and $86.2 million for program operation purposes. "Of the $5.5 billion that has been awarded since 1993, including this current round of funding, $3 billion remains in the pipeline," notes HUD sssistant secretary Michael Liu. "This year's Notice of Funding Availability will reward those housing authorities that are aggressively building housing." Henson Ridge, a 600-unit apartment complex in Washington, DC, is an example of a recently completed affordable housing redevelopment project that was partially funded through a HOPE VI grant.
