The projects are planned within Wiregrass Ranch, a 5,000-acre tract owned by the Porter family that stretches from State Road 54 to State Road 56 along Country Road 581, according to John W. Dowd III, Goodman's executive vice president for development.

The company plans a shopping center that has been approved for up to 227,500 sf on a 32.6-acre tract on State Road 54, just east of Country Road 581. On a second 39.9-acre parcel, Goodman plans to develop a 172,500-sf power center at the northeast corner of State Road 56 and Country Road 581. Both projects are tentatively scheduled to open in spring 2005.

Dowd says "tenant commitments for both sites will be announced very soon." He adds his company is "in final negotiations with several new tenants that are not in this market currently."

The Goodman Co. is the master retail developer at Wiregrass Ranch. The firm has three million sf of retail space under development in Florida and throughout the Southeast.
