Swayed by protesting residents who maintain planned lot sizes at the subdivision will be too small compared to their own one-acre tracts, the commission rejected the proposal by developer Joseph Lunsford and his brother, state Rep. John Lunsford (R-McDonough).

The commission is recommending the full Henry County commission reject the project as well. But the Lunsfords plan to pitch their project directly to the county commissioners in November. They will emphasize that Northstar Station will have large tracts of green space to ensure a rural ambience, according to preliminary plans filed with the planning commission.

But residents planning to attend the public county commission session next month tell GlobeSt.com they will point out that Northstar Station's planned lots are only 7,600 sf to 12,000 sf versus neighboring properties that average one acre or 43,560 sf.
