Fledgling IT Firm Expands Office

HOUSTON-An information technology firm with Houston roots signs a short-term lease for 3,951 sf in a jump from one MetroNational-owned building to another in the Katy Freeway submarket.

HOUSTON-A Houston startup, Mirus Information Technology Services Inc., has expanded from 2,500 sf at 9821 Katy Freeway to a 3,951-sf office at Two Memorial City Plaza at 820 Gessner Rd.

The firm provides Web-based polling and reporting applications aimed at creating cost efficiencies for its restaurant industry clients. Likewise, Christian Rooney, senior associate with Houston’s CBRE/Trione & Gordon, tells GlobeSt.com that Mirus is extremely efficient with its office area and never wastes any space. Rooney, the tenant’s representative, says the firm signed a short-term deal to maintain flexibility. He says Mirus considered moving from the Katy Freeway area to the Westchase submarket, but instead negotiated an early renewal and expansion with MetroNational, owner of both locations.
