(NAREE)

Rounding out the slate of 2004 officers and directors are:

--Chairman of the Board: Gregg Thomas, The Times-Picayune

--Secretary: Al Heavens, The Philadelphia Inquirer

--Second Vice President: Jeff Lubar, Mortgage Insurance Cos. of America

--Treasurer: Richard Paoli, San Francisco Chronicle

--Vice President: Sue Doerfler, Arizona Republic

--Active Directors: Lois Weiss, New York Post; Marci Geffner, Inman News; Dean Starkman, Wall Street Journal

--Associate Directors: Sandra Porter, Crescent Real Estate Equities; Rick Matthews, Trizec Properties

The new slate was revealed at NAREE's fall board meeting, which took place here this past weekend.

The new administration promises to focus on assisting journalists in career development and cultivate a better understanding of hot-button real estate business issues, says the incoming president. Included in that list are the ongoing disconnect between prices and cash flows, the puzzle of a jobless recovery, demographic trends, the housing affordability crisis across the USA and the true meaning of economic indicators.

"I look forward to leading an extraordinary group of talented professionals from a variety of editorial disciplines," Desiato comments.
