The Houston-based firm cuts, creates and sells marble and granite countertops. Aaron Schlameus with the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Inc. represented the company in the lease negotiations. Schlameus tells GlobeSt.com that his client has moved into a medium-term lease at the building.

The company moved from a smaller leased space in the same northwest Houston submarket. Schlameus says the move was prompted by a need to expand. The company has added over 2,000 sf. Additionally, he notes, the firm wanted the outside storage space and frontage along busy Clay Road this building provides.

While the terms of the lease were not disclosed, the lease was secured for close to the average asking rent for the area of 34 cents per sf gross. The third generation industrial building is owned by MMA Interests, who also owns another small industrial building next door.
