Besides retail, the local developer plans to build 200 townhomes on a 43-acre tract on the north side of Hamilton Mill Road, three miles southeast of Buford and about 25 miles northeast of Downtown Atlanta. The Atlanta Regional Commission is reviewing the proposed project which calls for the retail being built on a 78-acre site across from the townhomes.

In an unrelated project, the commission is also studying a proposal from Wilwat Properties which wants to expand its existing Tree Corners Apartments community at GA 20 and Hillside Drive. The 24-unit expansion would increase Tree Corners size to 414 apartments.
