Chicago-based developer McCaffery Interests Inc. says that the new tenants include:

Jewel Spa & Salon, a spa and hair care facility operated by Spa Central's Charlie and Lisa Slater, opens in December and will occupy 1,999 sf on First Avenue next to Le Meridien Hotel.

Panchero's Mexican Grill opens in January and will be located in 3,012 sf next to Border's Book Store. It will feature a variety of Mexican dishes as well as wine and beer.

Bellanotte, a 400-seat Italian restaurant adjacent to the Le Meridien Hotel, will occupy 10,275 sf and feature food from a variety of regions in Italy. The restaurant, which will open in February 2004, is the latest concept of Miami-based restaurateur Piero Filpi.

The Shout House, a 6,463-sf nightclub with comedy, dueling pianos and live rock music, will have capacity for up to 300 people, as well as a full bar and a "fun bar food" menu. The nightclub, which also opens in February, will be on the skyway above Bellanotte.

Juan Cameron, VP of McCaffery Leasing in Washington, DC, and Clayton McCaffery, director of new business development for McCaffery in Chicago, were involved in the leases. Financing for the retail portion of Block E was provided by Union Labor Life Insurance Co. of Washington, DC, ULLICO and the Minneapolis Community Development Agency.
