Reyes tells GlobeSt.com that he will be "looking to broaden its management scope beyond the predominantly retail portfolio," which now consists of about one million sf of retail and facilities management for an assisted-living property. The plan is to start vying for management contracts of office and apartment space. The group, he says, will appeal to "all appetites of management."

Reyes, saying he is in a hiring mode, hopes to have add 10 to 12 people to the staff by midyear 2004. In addition to the Houston footprint, the firm has a retail property under contract in the Rio Grande Valley town of Harlingen. He too will be tasked with that oversight.

Reyes was an executive of a 1.7-million-sf office and retail portfolio for Asset Plus' Houston office. The firm's executives did not return a telephone call by publication time for comment on Reyes' departure.
