State Forms Industrial Lands Advisory Committee

SALEM, OR-The Oregon Economic & Community Development Department has appointed the state’s first ever Industrial Lands Advisory Committee to identify more than two dozen “shovel-ready” industrial sites statewide that can be marketed for job creation.

The committee was formed pursuant to the passage of HB 2011, which mandates the identification of 25 industrial sites of “statewide significance” that offer in particular a high potential for job creation by being ready to develop when an opportunity presents itself. These “opportunity sites” will be chosen from an inventory of identified locations prepared by OECDD regional development officers. The goal is to have the statewide industrial site inventory pinned down by early next year.
