IFMA is a professional organization for facility management. The group has 127 chapters in 55 countries and is primarily focused on providing networking opportunities, research, trend analysis and skill development for its members.

Among the six new members of the board are two IFMA fellows. The new members are Francine Schmacher of F. Hoffman-LaRoche AG of Basel, Switzerland; Arvid Stonkus, IFMA fellow, of Canadian Facility Management & Design magazine, Toronto, ON, Canada; and John McGee of Emcor Group Inc. in Phoenix. Also, Margaret Williams of Battelle, Pacific Northwest Laboratory, Richland, WA.; Richard Fanelli, AIA, IFMA fellow; of Fanelli McClain Design Studios Inc., Fairfax, VA.; and Alana Dunoff, AFD Facility Planning, Lafayette, PA.

Returning members of the board are chair Sheila Sheridan of Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.; first vice chair Joseph M. Dawson of Ernst & Young, Atlanta; second vice chair Teena Shouse of Sprint in Overland Park, KS; and past chair Richard Pierce University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI. Also returning are Phil Booker, IFMA fellow, FM Solutions Inc. of Phoenix; and Gary Broersma of Covance in Bristow, VA.
