New Name and Look are in Store for Shopping Center

WESTMINSTER, MD-What had been known as the Englar Shopping Center and Lowe’s Hardware site has been scheduled to go under the construction knife, so to speak, and will emerge as the new 225,000-sf Westminster Crossing. Property owner Greenberg Commercial expects to spend approximately $15 million to transform the grocery-anchored retail destination, which is located at Rte. 140 and Englar Rd.

The eastern portion of Westminster Crossing will be reconfigured to accommodate 100,000 sf of space, and at the 125,000-sf western part of the property, Greenberg will reconfigure the 73,000-sf structure that was once home to a K-Mart store. Already Office Depot has committed to nearly 20,000 sf of that space. “Greenberg Commercial has taken an under-performing asset and transformed it into a project that will bring value to both businesses and residents in the area and spur similar business development projects on the Rte. 140 corridor,” says Carroll County Economic Development executive director Jack Lyburn.
