Wyndham at Franklin Plaza to Undergo $8M Spruce-Up

PHILADELPHIA-Dallas-based Wyndham International will undertake a $7.5-million renovation of Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza. Upgrades are planned for every area of the 758-room hotel. Meeting rooms will also be revamped to increase their flexibility and number of breakout options.

The 26-story, contemporary-style hotel at North 17th and Race Streets was built in 1980 and renovated in 1998. It stands four blocks from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and is one of the city’s largest convention hotels. It currently has 55,000 sf of meeting and exhibit space on two levels, including a 20,000-sf ballroom.

The renovation will encompass all guestrooms and baths, corridors, the lobby and both restaurants. Guestrooms will have new carpeting and newly upholstered furniture. Granite countertops, marble flooring and new sinks and tubs will be installed in guestroom baths. New carpeting and wall coverings will be installed in all corridors.
