PHOENIX-An 18-year Weitz Co. employee has moved up the ranks from his start as an assistant project manager to president of the Southwest region.

Mike Bontrager, who started with the Des Moines-based firm as an assistant project manager in 1983, was named to the regional post by Weitz’s COO Jim Simmons.
