A partnership of Ross Matz Investments Inc., based in Davie, FL, purchased the outdoor mall from New York-based investment group Investcorp for $42.6 million, or $114.82 per sf, in January. At the time, Barry Ross, a principal in the buying partnership, said the mall suffered from delayed maintenance and as a condition of the mall's sale, it would undergo a significant renovation this year.
Deerfield Mall is located at 3984 W. Hillsboro Blvd. at the southwest corner of Hillsboro Boulevard and Powerline Road. Tenants at the mall include Publix, Office Max, T.J. Maxx, The Sports Authority, Marshalls, Walgreens and Sunrise Cinemas. The mall's grand reopening was held Nov. 22.
