DEERFIELD BEACH, FL-A major renovation has been completed at the 371,000-sf Deerfield Mall in the city. The $1-million in improvements included painting, a new facade and awnings, extensive landscaping and pressure cleaning sidewalks. Parking lot improvements are still to come.

A partnership of Ross Matz Investments Inc., based in Davie, FL, purchased the outdoor mall from New York-based investment group Investcorp for $42.6 million, or $114.82 per sf, in January. At the time, Barry Ross, a principal in the buying partnership, said the mall suffered from delayed maintenance and as a condition of the mall’s sale, it would undergo a significant renovation this year.
