Cresa Partners founding chairman William Goade says the India presence is based on the significant number of American companies that are outsourcing. "Knowing that India offers many opportunities for our clients who are outsourcing functions such as call centers, software development and accounting, we wanted to ensure that we had the right resources in place to provide solutions," he says.

Goade is acting on a 2003 forecast by Forrester Research that states the acceleration in outsourcing will result in 3.3 million American jobs moving offshore by 2015 and that 70% of these jobs will move to India.

"The low cost of highly educated labor, an abundance of property, improving infrastructure and government incentives are driving multinationals to India," says Kumar, who has 18 years of commercial real estate experience in India. "The CRESA Partners office fills a gap in India service to the many clients I have served in the past as well as new multinational companies."

Kumar, officially the principal and managing director of the new India office, has served the India needs of clients such as, Stream International, Unilever, Cisco, Siemens, Universal Music, Sunlife, Unisys, Colgate and Phillips. He is also the founder and chairperson of CoreNet Global's India chapter.

In addition to Mumbai, Cresa's new office will service Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai Cresa. The exclusive listing alliance between Cresa and ATIS now spans more than 125 cities in 35 countries, including CRESA Partners' 45 North American offices.
