The CMBA is the largest statewide organization representing the real estate finance industry. DeMars, founder of SCD Consulting, has been an outside consultant for the CMBA for the past three years.

SCD, founded in 1997, provides association management, non-profit management and event planning services. In 1991, DeMars founded California Resource Network, a political fundraising and political action committee management-consulting firm representing Republican candidates throughout the state of California.

CMBA also appointed four new Board Directors to its 27-member board. New Board Directors include: Mark Runyon, president and CEO of MortgageTree Lending; Jan Lynn Owen, Washington Mutual government relations manager for the western region; Jon Koskoff, Impac Funding Corporation vice president of national sales; and Joseph Lynyak, partner with Reed Smith Crosby Heafey LL. They bring a blend of residential real estate and a broad knowledge of economic and public policy to CMBA.
