The state grant would help improve and expand public infrastructure from Park Avenue to 36th Street NW. The grant, awarded through the Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Program, is designed to help communities stimulate business development and job creation by providing financial assistance for costly business-related infrastructure projects.

The new grant program is geared toward improving the infrastructure needs of communities in Greater Minnesota, and interest around the state has been overwhelming, according to Matt Kramer, head of the state's Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The $100,000 state grant will be matched by a similar or greater amount of local funds. The Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Program is administered by DEED's Business and Community Development Division.
