In April 2003, the regional mall lost its anchor tenant when Kmart departed, part of Kmart's bankruptcy restructuring. Kmart's departure left a gaping 114,000-sf vacancy and approximately 8,000 sf of additional retail space for lease.
CBRE said it's Mid- and West Michigan retail and management teams will be working collectively to provide recommendations to property's owner, Union Bank N.A. "We have already begun a comprehensive market analysis to secure a national tenant." said Shawn H. O'Brien, CBRE VP and senior retail advisor.
