• Despatch Laundry, Minneapolis--$502,000 to help address soil contamination at 113 East 26th Street in the Whittier Neighborhood at the site of a former dry cleaning facility and gas station. Redevelopment plans include mixed commercial uses, 15 housing units and surface parking.
• Lithium Corporation of America/Con-Agra, St. Louis Park--$436,465 to help clean up a six-acre site at 2401 Edgewood Avenue, where the soil and groundwater are contaminated by lithium. Redevelopment plans call for a 78,260-sf multi-tenant industrial building.
• Washington Live/Work Building, Minneapolis--$359,785 to help with clean up at Washington Avenue South, east of Portland Avenue. Redevelopment plans call for a building that will include 28 condominiums, street level retail and commercial businesses and underground parking.
• Village Creek, Brooklyn Park--$257,400 to help with asbestos abatement at the Village North Shopping Center as part of a larger redevelopment project, including a fitness facility, office space, some retail space and 50 townhouses on 134 acres in the heart of the city.
• Louie's Auto Recyclers, Champlin-- $200,000 to help remediate 15 acres of a 64-acre site and make way for a redevelopment that includes 162 townhomes, including some affordable units, and office/retail space, including a Super Target.
• Heritage Park, Minneapolis--$143,750 to help with soil clean up activities on 40 acres along Olson Memorial Highway and support redevelopment on the site of former public housing developments. Plans promote a stable, mixed-income, mixed-density, culturally diverse and high amenity urban neighborhood, including 900 units of rental, owner occupied and senior housing with connections to adjacent neighborhoods.
• Westminster Junction, St. Paul--$65,000 to help clean up 35 acres within the Phalen Corridor for a business center and some housing.Four of the projects, Despatch Laundry, Heritage Park, Westminster Junction and the St. Louis Park project, also were approved for clean-up funding from the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic Development.
