David Murphy and Mike Phipps, CBRE vice presidents, are the year's most productive brokers. Murphy was cited for his 42 industrial deals valued at $50.2 million; Phipps for his 15 transactions totaling $85.6 million. Murphy was also NAIOP's top broker in 1999.

Murphy joined CBRE in 1998 and was named the company's rookie of the year in its eastern US division. He is a 1994 graduate from Pennsylvania State University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in real estate. He focused on real estate valuation and became one of the youngest appraisers to receive a Member of the Appraisal Institute designation.

NAIOP also recognized the father-son team of Trevor Hall Sr. and Trevor Hall Jr. Both won lifetime achievement awards. Hall Sr. retired five years ago and worked closely on numerous major deals with several name developers, including Ronald A. Pizzuti, chairman, Pizzuti Cos. of Columbus, OH. Hall Jr. is a senior industrial broker in the local office of Colliers Arnold Real Estate Services Co.

Companies winning special recognition for "outstanding" developments were Duke Realty, EastGroup Property Services, Small Bay Partners and Realvest Partners Inc. Developer George D. Livingston, a former NAIOP chapter president, heads Realvest and Small Bay Partners.

Trammell Crow Co. won the "outstanding" office development award for the 250,000-sf Hughes Supply Co. headquarters at Hughes Square in Downtown.

Flagler Development Co. was named developer of the year, largely on the success of its GranPark at SouthPark venture in the 4,000-acre Orlando Central Park development.
